Go on be a Rebel!

2010 saw the exciting launch of Rebel Books LLP, an independent publishing house that specialises in Teen and Children’s Literature. We wanted to create timeless, original pieces of fiction whilst giving the opportunity for new and exciting voices to be heard. We think we are doing this and we hope you do too!

Rebel Books has a love of the supernatural and magical so a lot of our anthologies and even our first upcoming novel have these themes running through them. We believe that the best starting point is to find things that you love and there’s a strong chance a lot of other people will love them too.

What we would also like to do is work on the popularity of the short story. It is important to highlight the accessibility of a story because it is like an instant fiction fix and anthologies are definitely a great tool for kids who want to read but don’t have the time to give to a full novel. We have an anthology of supernatural stories for teens already out called Rebel Moon and are releasing an anthology of stories for children at the end of November titled ‘A Pocketful of Moon Dust’.

Here at Rebel we are also really passionate about covers. Covers sell a book in a lot of cases and we want our covers to be as impressive and awe inspiring as possible. We love our illustrators and hope you will agree that so far they have done a brilliant job.
