Debra’s Top Ten Authors

Hey, it’s Debs here! I am going to talk a little bit about my top ten YA favourite authors. So here we go…
1- Melissa Marr
I have read and absolutely love her Wicked Lovely series. Its edgy and dark and has great character and story progression. What I loved the most about this series is the fact that as you go though book 1 and book 2 and so on, the viewpoint changes but the storyline keeps going but you are just seeing it through different eyes.
2- Sara Shepard
The Pretty Little Liars series is one of the reasons I got into YA books. I loved the whole mystery of who is A and finding out about all the characters around them…. I have been watching the Pretty Little Liars series and love that too!
3-Marley Gibson
When I picked up Marley’s book Radiate I looked at the cover and saw a cheerleader and a yellow background and I thought this was going to be a nice easy type of read. I was so many degrees of wrong…. This follows the story of Hayley who has always dreamed of becoming a cheerleader but when she discovers she has cancer and could lose her leg, she has to fight for both her life and her right to be a cheerleader again… AMAZING read!!!
4- Ellie James
Ellie’s Midnight Dragonfly series is becoming one of my most favourite series of all time…. This story is about Trinity who sees visions of what is going to happen to people. Love it!
5- Yvonne Woon
Her Dead Beautiful series so far is amazing…. Its basically about Renée who is sent to an Academy and a lot of paranormal things happen.. I won’t say too much more about it because the beauty of this series is not knowing what you are getting yourself into when reading these books…
6- Sarah Beth Durst
I have only read one of her books so far but I am already a huge fan. Her book Drink Slay Love is one of my firm favourites… A story about a vampire that gets stabbed by a unicorn and is then able to go into the sunlight…. Who wouldn’t want to read that, right?
7- Melissa de la Cruz
Her Blue Bloods series is so amazing… I loved this series so much.. Its fun and there’s a lot of history to figure out…
8- Rachel Hawkins
Another great series so far.. I have read Hex Hall and Demonglass (also known as Raising Demons in the UK) and love how the story is taking on so far… Of course its about witches and I love anything about witches….
9- Jessica Verday
Jessica’s Hollow trilogy is a fantastic spin on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. We follow the main character, Kristen, when her best friend goes missing, Kristen struggles to believe that her best friend would be dead. She also meets Caspian and there is a lot more to him than meets the eye…
10- Stephenie Meyer
Ok, so I just had to put Stephenie in this list because I am a MASSIVE Twilight fan… I just can’t stop reading/watching it….
